River Road
The screen porch was built over an existing raised patio. After confirming the footings were adequate, we framed this porch in just a few days. The hipped roof presented some framing challenges with how it tied into the existing structure, but we worked through it. The standing seam metal roof accents the majestic angles. The interior stains tongue and groove ceiling provide a classy look to a comfortable space.
Foxhall
The Client’s request was to add outdoor living space to the back of the house which was to include a deck, screen in porch with fireplace and a patio. They gave us a budget up front and we executed on budget and on schedule.
The Fan
This Hanover Avenue client called CB Chandler with an idea to redo the entire rear yard of her house. New deck, new screened porch, all new hardscape, accent lighting, gas fireplaces, tankless hot water heaters, repaint everything. We were able to salvage her existing deck structure and then add to that a 20x20 screened-in porch. With a little back and forth with the city, we obtained a zoning variance allowing us to build within 3 feet of the property line matching here existing house dimensions. What a great use of space. We added a rear door to the house allowing direct access to the new screen porch. The client states they are outside almost every day hanging out on this porch.
Bennington Ridge – Pine Run
We took an existing deck and simply added a roof with screening. Not always the easiest of tasks but with a little ingenuity and reworking of the structure, we were able to make it work without having to tear down the deck or even remove the existing decking. We also installed a new rear patio and corrected some very much-needed drainage to the rear of the house.
